Remembering Nick Palmer We can never let this time of year pass without remembering Nick Palmer. Our thoughts are with Nick’s family and friends especially this Sunday, the 12th anniversary of Nick’s untimely passing at the 2014 Southend Half Marathon. Nick’s death was the catalyst for the formation of Finish Line Fund and we are delighted that the charity has been able to make such a significant contribution to both local sport and the community. This morning we were with South Woodham Runners 10k at their 4th annual trail race. Congrats to the club on an excellent event with fantastic views of the Crouch attracting 400 runners from local clubs. We were delighted to support the event with a grant towards the cost of providing medical facilities to keep everyone safe out on the sea wall. #supportingsportinourcommunity

Junior Red Star FC at Roots Hall! Last Monday, Finish Line Fund-sponsored Junior Red Star FC U10s enjoyed a fantastic day at Southend United’s Roots Hall stadium, where they played an exhibition match on the pitch. Before kick-off, the players were treated to a behind-the-scenes stadium tour, including the home and away dressing rooms, media centre, directors’ box and players’ tunnel — before walking out to the Champions League theme tune in kits emblazoned with our logo!
