Today we delivered more essential life saving equipment, this time to Dean Willis of Two Tails CrossFit in Wickford. We helped fund and source a defibrillator for the gym after a recent fantastic fundraising effort by the members.
This morning we were at Hawkwell junior parkrun. Last year we stepped up to fund the purchase of a defibrillator when the Event Director deemed the one at Clements Hall was too far from the course. 69 junior park runners completed the course on a lovely morning.
A huge thank you for your donation! We cannot run our event without direct access to an AED and due to our post COVID relocation to the pavilion, the one at Clements Hall was just a little too far away and posed too much of a risk.
Your kind donation not only means we can run our event each week as we have the right safety equipment in place, but it means we have our own AED on site should anything ever happen.
The safety of our volunteers, runners and their families is always our utmost priority so this was such an important step towards our safe return last year and we cannot thank the finish fund line enough.
Another day, another event supported. Delighted today to cover the cost of medical facilities at the wonderful #Stourvalleymarathon and continue our support for Company of Runners
We have been delighted to have supported the fantastic #HARP24 event this weekend. Two locally based Southend charities coming together. Congrats to all who took part
We are delighted to once again have supported today’s Run Free Charity cup. Pictured here with Run Free founders Eddy Cooper , Chris Phillips and Keeley Hood of South Essex MIND.
This morning we were at the lovely Burnham on Crouch parkrun presenting the portable defibrillator we funded recently to Event Director Carly Stevenson. Here’s to many years of safe running at the event.
Don’t forget to sign up for our Finish Line Frolic on July 31st, our 6 hour running event co-hosted by our friends at Hare and Tortoise Running.
Choose to run as many, or as few, traffic-free looped 5k trail loops within the 6 hour time limit. There will be fully manned aid stations so you can grab yourself a free snack or you can leave your bag safely and eat your own.
Many, many thanks to runners from Flyers Southend who during this week bought their donations from their monthly 5k handicap to over £1000 since they returned to the Chalkwell tarmac last September following Covid restrictions.
We are so very grateful for your continued support.
This money alone has effectively covered the bulk of the cost of two portable defibrillators that we have recently put into the community.
Last night we presented the Finish Line Fund Virtual Relay trophy to Leigh on Sea Striders, who won last month’s event. They came out on top through fielding 64 runners covering an average distance of 3.41 miles in 30 mins. The team was cooordinated by FLF trustee Elisha Letley and Matt Barrett. Congrats and thanks to all. #supportingsportinourcommunity#LOSS#running#southendEdit
